Elderly Care Vocational Training and Rehabilitation System

The Elderly Care Vocations (ECV) project embraces the humanitarian, social and professional processes which are necessary for providing care to the elders.  The social and employment requirements in this field are expanding as a result of the ageing of the population all over Europe and are augmented by the increasing trend of elderly individuals in seeking professional care in replacement of the traditionally provided child-to-parent assistance.

The main outcomes of the project are:

  1. The ECV e-learning software suitable for initial training and re-training in the elderly care vocation. The system resides on a contemporary personal computer with appropriate data storage, fast retrieval technology and advanced audiovisual media which are adequate to support an electronic learning environment. The software stipulates the e-learning concept through screen text reading, video clips showing ergonomic processes, close-up simulations, intelligible scripts and validation exercises.  The trainees can learn the Elderly Care Vocations modules of: Vocational Awareness, Basic Ageing Pathology, Environmental Care, Basic Body Care, Hygiene, Nursing, Handling Incontinence, First Aids, Physiotherapy, Mobility and Entertainment, Tools and Materials

  2. The diligent trainees have the option to apply for validation of their skills and award of the Certificate of ECV knowledge through the appropriate mechanism of the ECV network which resides in the internet site www.ecvleonardo.com .

  3. The ECV members Network an electronic platform residing in www.ecvleonardo.com . It aims to bring together Organisations and Individuals sharing common interest in the elderly care vocation.

  4. The ECV Social Relations Guide addressing the implicit establishment of the appropriate employment strategies and practices that are necessary to maintain a stable work environment for this delegate vocation.

The outcomes are the result of the joint work of the partners of the “ECV - Leonardo do Vinci” project which was subsidised by the European Commission and promoted by Trisys Ltd leading an active partnership of the participating organisations as shown in the internet site: www.ecvleonardo.com .
